Coldstream & the Scottish Borders
Decorating, tiling and bathrooms inside. Repointing, gardens, patios and driveways outside. One local team quotes the job, does the job and clears up after it.
01 — Recent work
A dozen favourites from 122 photographs. The full sets, grouped job by job from before to after, are in the two albums below. Tap any photo to open it.
02 — What we do
Most jobs need more than one trade. A hallway needs the floor lifting before it can be tiled; a garden needs a wall before it can be paved. We do the lot ourselves, so you get one price and nobody blaming anybody else.

04 — What we are known for outside
Half the old walls in the Borders have been spoiled by hard cement smeared across the face. We rake the joints out by hand, keep the pointing recessed behind the arris, and match the mix batch to batch so the wall reads as one piece of work.
05 — How it works
Call, WhatsApp or fill in the form. A photo of the problem helps, so send it straight to the WhatsApp number.
Always. If we cannot take the job on, we say so straight away rather than leaving you waiting on a quote.
We come and look at it properly, then price it in writing with the work spelled out. No obligation to go ahead.
You get start and finish dates before we begin, rooms sheeted while we work, and the place cleared when we leave.
06 — Where we work
We are a local firm and we keep it local: close enough to come back if something needs looking at, and close enough that our work is standing in streets you drive down. Both sides of the Tweed, Scotland and Northumberland.
Further afield for larger projects: ask and we will tell you straight whether it is workable.
07 — Straight answers
Yes. The visit, the measure-up and the written price all cost you nothing, and there is no obligation to go ahead. We would rather come and look at a job properly than guess at a number over the phone.
Yes. Inside we do decorating, wall and floor tiling, bathrooms and shower rooms, plaster repairs and joinery details like panel mouldings and radiator covers. The interior album shows the jobs from start to finish.
Within 24 hours of your call, WhatsApp message or form. If we are up a scaffold when you ring, leave a message or send a WhatsApp and it gets answered the same evening.
Usually, yes. Floors and furniture get dust-sheeted, we work room by room, and you get start and finish dates before we begin so you can plan around it.
Both. A morning's repair, a gate rehung, a patch of plaster or pointing: they are all worth doing, and they are how most of our bigger jobs start.
The old, failed mortar is raked out of the joints by hand to a proper depth, the joints are brushed and damped, then packed with fresh mortar mixed to match the wall and finished back so the stone still stands proud. Done right it lasts decades; done with hard cement smeared over the face it traps water and does more harm than good.
Yes, domestic and commercial both: shopfront stonework, rental property repairs and redecoration between tenants. If you manage more than one property, say so when you get in touch.
Agreed in writing before we start. For larger projects that normally means a staged arrangement tied to the work completed rather than a lump sum up front. Ask when you get your estimate and we will set it out plainly.
08 — Free estimate
Fill this in and it opens a ready-written message in WhatsApp or your email app. Nothing is sent until you press send. Or just ring; that works too.
